No! I'm A Good Girl! ;)

Side note, I do have strep after all, and the infection spread to my mouth, ears, sinuses, and possibly my glands.  I welcome your prayers as I'm so tired and miss eating.  I started the antibiotics today.

So, I sing at random times.  When taking a shower, when doing house work, and as was the case today, when getting dressed.

So, one line of the song I was singing is {scratchy like because of my cold}, "You rinse and you spit, but you don't swallow it."

The Duke's head whips around.  "What are you singing???"

I repeat the last line I'd just sung, laughing as I realize how it sounds.

"Are you being a bad girl?"  He's half shocked, half amused at me as I only listen to clean songs.  He was probably wondering where I picked up such a song.

So I rushed to answer.  "No, no, I'm being a good girl!  It's a Bubble Guppies song!  About brusing your teeth!"  Hey, I work with kids, one who loves the show.  It's not my fault!  Those songs are horribly catchy. lol

Later on, I asked what had shocked/bothered him more.  The idea of being able to spit it out, or that he thought I was singing a song about oral sex.  ;) ;) ;)  I'll leave you to guess his answer.

And in case anyone questions my honesty, this song is in the "Tooth On The Looth" episode. :)

  1. Oh, that's hysterical. We sing those cartoon songs all the time, even when to kids are not around, they're pretty catchy and obnoxious at the same time :) Hope you're on the mend and those antibiotics kick in soon. Oh, and I wanted to say that I thought your HOH day was a great idea, and as soon as I can kick this sickness, I want to do something for him..I can do it late, right?! Have a great weekend!!

    1. Oh, Jennelle, I laughed so hard at him after I declared my innocense. It was funny. :) Oh, those songs really are catchy, and abnoxious at times. lol And HoH Day is whatever works best for you. :) You can spoil him any time. :) I only made it a day to help motivate me, and anyone who needed it to do it, and having it on the calendar helps me make sure I do it. lol

  2. Hahaha. I work with kids as well and catch myself singing songs from all sorts of children shows! I can't believe those lyrics.. so funny!

    Strep is not fun at all, especially with it spreading like that. I'm sorry you're not feeling well and I'll pray for a speedy recovery for ya! :)

    1. You know, Kenzie, until that moment, I thought those lyrics were so innocent, now I'll never listen to the song the same way again. And I'm with you, step is no fun at all, especially since this is day seven or so of having it. :(

    1. Tasha, it's no wonder, all their songs are way too catchy, and I have sung way too many of them, some I know completely by heart. And yes, it does pain me to say that! lol I say, serenade the grocery people, might be the highlight of their day. ;

    1. LOL Yeah, I was going to explain about the song at the beginning of the post, actually, but figured, it would be way more fun this way for anyone who didn't know the innocense of the song I was actually singing. ;) Glad you had a good laugh. And thank you, hope to be better soon. :) {{{hugs}}}

  11. So just saying... I was highly suspicious you had strep. You will start feeling better in 24-48 hours. Throw out your toothbrush in about 3 days and get a new one or you can reinfect yourself. Watch Duke cause if there has been smooching going on he is at risk. Hope you feel better real soon.

    1. I have an electric tooth brush that I just switch heads on, and was about to do it last week, glad I waited now. :) I'll wipe down the other parts of the brush good with rubbing alcohol. Thanks for the suggestion. :) And I have a rule in our marriage, kisses on the cheeks only when one of us is sick. One, I hate seeing the Duke sick, two, I look after an 18 month old, and don't want to get him sick. So, except for one kiss the Duke surprised me with, we followed this rule all week. So, HOPING that one kiss did not seal it for him. lol

  12. Hi Es May, I hope you feel really better again soon. If it had not been for the streps, your Duke might have wanted to find out whether you dared him with your song.:)
    Thank you for sharing, this was really funny. Enjoy your weekend,

Please feel free to leave any comments, but I do ask you to be kind. We go into this with eyes wide open after months of prayer, and a peace in our hearts that this is the right choice before God for our marriage. I am open to questions from those who wonder why we made this choice, but I would ask for no personal attacks. Thank you. :)
