Quick Save!

So, as I said a few weeks ago, I was going to start asking the Duke open ended questions because I get no where when I ask closed ones.  So today I was asking his opinion on something, the Duke had said something in church that made everyone, and I mean everyone, laugh.  He told me at home that he didn't mean for it to be funny, so I wanted to make sure his feelings weren't hurt.  I asked him if he felt made fun of or that everyone was laughing at him.  Woops.  So when he said he didn't really feel either, I remembered my promise about open ended questions

EsMay "How do you feel about it then?"

The Duke "I actually feel okay about it.  I didn't feel bad about it or anything."

EsMay "Forgot that I have to start asking you open ended question."

The Duke  "If you keep asking me open ended questions, I think I'll start answering 'good' for them all."  Insert sarcastic grin.

EsMay "You do that and I'm going to beat you with a stick!"  OOPS Quick overly serene grin.  "In love of course." LOL

Oh, that could have been so bad for me!  lol  Thankfully he let me go at that and he didn't call me out for it. :)

Also, cute thing happened today.  It was raining a deluge today, and we were out with a number of families with our church for lunch.  When we went to go home, the Duke ordered me to wait at the door of the restaurant so that he could pull the car around for me.  Usually I drive, and usually I get the car with him.  It was nice, I felt so protected. :)

And the wooden hairbrush?  The Duke tried it last night for maintenance, and he was not a fan, so for my hair it is! :)  Tried it this morning, might be the best hairbrush I've ever had.  It has two different types of bristles, and I'm so glad it's not for my bottom. ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful week! :)

  1. That's awesome. Tm hasn't seemed interested in using any of our brushes since he got a wooden paddle brush, without the bristles of course. It is one of the worst implements lol. Leaves me sore for days after.

    1. Yeah, Mischief, I think Tm must have talked to the Duke, because the Duke let me know that he really thinks the other implements are now useless because he likes our two wooden paddles so much, there is not much sense in having the others... say what???? lol

  2. I'm glad to hear that the hairbrush is for your hair....I hate wood, leaves me soar for a couple of days.

Hmmm, open ended questions, I never thought about that before. I will have to give it a try.

    1. Oh, the Duke still LOVES wood, just not the brush. lol Oh, open ended questions are definitely the way to go, it makes them talk! lol Instead of just saying yes and no... took me a while to learn that one. :)

  3. I love this post Es May, I love the Duke saying he is going to answer your questions with "good" ... such a guy thing to say LoL

How sweet of him to pull the car around for you so that you wouldn't get soaked in the rain. Doesn't that just make you feel 'squiffy'? So glad to hear the hairbrush is for hair only!

    Hugs,
    Roz

    1. LOL Yep, for the hair. :) And ouch... maybe we didn't get the right kind of hair brush, it isn't that long or wide, so the Duke found it was hard to get much momentum behind it... so maybe it's just too small. lol

  8. Lucky girl! I have a wooden hairbrush. It sits out on my dresser. I wish it was only for my hair. Thankfully, it rarely gets used for other purposes!

Anyway, it sounds like things are going well. This post made me smile. :)

Please feel free to leave any comments, but I do ask you to be kind. We go into this with eyes wide open after months of prayer, and a peace in our hearts that this is the right choice before God for our marriage. I am open to questions from those who wonder why we made this choice, but I would ask for no personal attacks. Thank you. :)
