Being Sick + UPDATE

I am SOOO not in a submissive mood today. :(

I am sick.  On Tuesday I started getting a really bad sore throat.  I took some advice, and the throat is less sore, but I'm more sick.  Come to find out, it's allergies, one of my pollen triggers is high/severe right now.  They've never been this bad.  My throat hurts a lot less now, but it's still raw, my glands are so swollen that my neck is all thick and really hurts, like the muscles have been pulled.  My sinuses are full and hurt, my lungs are raspy, and I am frozen solid.  Two layers of pants, two shirts, two sweaters, and my husband sits around in a tshirt or tank top!

So, today I should be cleaning.  I should be studying for the test I have in training today (okay, I will get to that) and I should be exercising, I should be eating healthy.

Cleaning and chores, are out the window.  I don't want to.  I don't want to move.  My husband brought home sugar donuts yesterday.  We never have them.  What did I eat for breakfast?  Two!  Yeah, so I'm not on my diet either.  I just want to sit and be miserable.  So even the thought of making breakfast was too much.  I could have had milk and cereal, but thought the milk would make my throat worse.

Why can't I find my submissive side?  Cleaning would only take about 30 minutes.  It would be less if I'd done it yesterday, but I felt this crummy then too.

What do you do when you'd rather just not do the things you're supposed to?  How do you find the motivation to get up and go?  I really just want to go back to bed, and not face the fact that in less than two hours I'll be working, and soon into my shift will be having a test.  I just want to find a rock to crawl under and hide, and sleep! :)  Submission, where are you HIDING???

** UPDATE - Got 100% on my test!  Whew, I was so worried, that with being sick I broke down for a few seconds with the Duke, just being overwhelmed.  So glad it was much easier than they portrayed! :)

  1. Aww, you poor thing! Allergies are the worst but if you are feeling cold like that, perhaps you have a fever as well?

Take some ibuprophen, it will help with the swelling in your throat and help bring down a fever if you do have one.

If I can't find the motivation to do the things that I need to do I usually make a coffee, coffee helps everything. Or a hot tea. Listen to some music and open the windows. Let the sunshine in! :)

I hope you start feeling better!! It sucks to be sick, especially when you have a test. I know the feeling. Make sure to get plenty of rest and don't stress too much, you will only be making it worse. Okay, enough of my motherly rambling haha

Good luck with work and with your test. I will be praying for you. Feel better!! ((hugs))

    1. Sadly, no fever. Almost would be nice to have one because then I'd know how to fight it. Maybe even get more a sympathy vote with it. ;) I did try ibuprophen liked you suggested (sorry, was too tired to reply back yesterday) and it really helped the swelling in my neck and throat. So thank you for that idea! :) I was so glad.

  2. Hot tea always helps when I feel bad. Do you like tea? Try green or black tea with some honey. Then drag yourself to accomplish ONE thing you are supposed to do. Rest. Drink a cold glass of ice water. Drag yourself to do one more thing... Rest. Repeat and each time have a drink, a lozenge, or something. When all your chores are done you may still feel lousy but you will have a clean house and the knowledge of that will be nice. ;) (((hugs))) quiet sara

    1. OH, Sara, I am such a weird woman. I like water. Yep, you read that right, water. Once in a RARE while I will want milk with something, or sprite/7up, but rarely. And hot bevereges, I really have tried, tried so hard, can't stand them. lol I should try some tea, we got some when I was really sick a few months ago, and never did open it. I guess I should try it. lol If just drinking it makes me miserable, can I come back and blame you? ;) ;) JUST KIDDING. :) You're so sweet, I would never blame you. :) I did do one thing yesterday. I cleaned the livingroom when I was done my test early. (I get to work from home now!) :) I also felt quite well half way through the training, and so while they were doing screen demonstrations, I jogged on the spot, hoping the increased circulation and air in take would help. It did some. :)

  3. Your body is telling you what to do...LISTEN to it. We all know that Duke will be more angry if you do all those 'silly' things that you think are important when you are sick. YOU should take top priority girl.

I'm not sure how you are supposed to do your job while you are sick like this. It will make matters worse. Please take care of yourself EsMay you were so sick for so long before, I don't want you to repeat that especially now that the weather is finally starting to get nicer!

    2. Okay, so the Duke and I talked last night. He wants me to rest too. I threw laundry into the washer today, but he'll hang it out to dry, and bring it in. I was told to REST. I think if it hadn't been for the test, and the ABSOLUTELY NO MISSING ANY TRAINING rule, I would have called in sick yesterday. But it's two months of absolutely no absentiesm. I even have to miss my family reunion. :( I was SOOO looking forward to it. :( But, the job itself is really good, and once the two months of training are up, should be a lot easier to deal with, at least that is what people say. The good thing is that it's at home, so I feel like it's less work. I don't have to get dressed up, or do my hair when I'm sick. I can wrap up in a blanket and be all cozy. Though had I already been on the phones, for sure, I couldn't have done the last three days with no voice. YIKES. lol

  4. Ya, what ^ they ^ said. Take meds, get lots of rest and only do what is necessary. The house work and diet will all be there when you get better. You are being submissive, you're just sick. Get better soon!

    1. Thank you, Sarah. And thankgoodness the diet will still be there! I had some icecream last night, and it made my throat feel SOOOO good that I had three bowls worth by the end of the night, and then some this morning. *GULP* I'd do popsicles, but the pure sugar bothers me. So diet, is on HOLD. lol

  5. I have to agree with the above. Rest...rest....rest. If you don't, you just will be sick for longer. The world won't come to an end if you don't get everything done.

    1. Hehehe, it's amazing how we do feel that way, when we're sick. That everything will fall apart. I wonder why we feel that way? Thank you, Kim, for reminding me that it won't. :)

  6. That sounds awful. I know from experience how unpleasant much of that can be. Thankfully I mostly just fought off my last bout with allergies but I feel your pain. Take some medicine and get lots of rest. Getting better is more important than a little cleaning. I hope you feel better soon!

    1. Oh, Mischief, I hate to think of anyone else having to be this miserable! {{{HUGS}}} I am glad that you are past the allergies for now. Am doing the medicine, and will probably see the doc today or tomorrow just to make sure nothing is getting out of hand. And I promise to put off the cleaning. :) :) Thank you.

  7. Es May, you poor girl, being sick is no fun! Tell Duke that you need his help and then let him! Don't be doing stuff that he can do while you are sick, that will only prolong the agony! Do what all the others said and then find that rock to sleep under!

    Get better soon,

    George

    1. I opted for my bed instead of the rock. ;) Something told me it would be more warm and snuggly. :) And the Duke is helping me, oh he's so good to me. :) He even picked up take out food last night so that I wouldn't have to worry about making something, and he wouldn't have had the time once he got home to make up something healthy. (it was mostly healthy takeout, lol)

  10. If I'm sick, I just don't have the motivation and I do almost nothing. I would like to say I have a magic wand that helps me to do things but I don't. H takes over when I am sick and does everything until I am felling better again.
If its just because I don't want to do something H takes away my Internet access until things are done...... Biggest motivator ever!

    1. LOL, oh Callie, if I find that kind of magic wand, I'll pick you up one as well! Well, I have sort of one, it has two legs, two arms and calls me Honey and Sweetie. :) Sounds like you do too. :)

I wasn't thinking, I laughed at your internet comment, saying I was so glad he didn't do that to me. And then I was like, DOH, just give him more ideas. Great EsMay! lol Yeah, I can imagine it's a big motivator! lol

  11. What you should do is take care of yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

    1. Thank you, sunnygirl, I plan to do just that today. :) And thank you, it was a hard test, but not near as hard as I thought. Studying before hand really helped, even though they said it wouldn't. :)

  12. I'm sorry you are sick. Your body is fighting a battle, so you CAN'T expect yourself to have the same energy to do your regular stuff. You know "Take 2 asprin, drink plenty of fluids, REST, and call the doctor in the morning (if you aren't better)" REST is a big part of getting well. Just because it's allergies, doesn't mean your body isn't overwhelmed. Take care of yourself and you will get better faster. I know I'm not your HOH, but I am an RN, so... Take it easy!.. Nurse's Orders. Love and prayers, Belle L.

    1. Well, the Duke is really happy with your advice, Belle. :) I read him your last line from "I know I'm not your HOH" he loved it, and then looked at me and said "YES, take it EASY". lol

I guess you are right, I keep thinking, it's only allergies, but I have been miserable since Tuesday night. It hurts to swallow, wheezing, coughing, sneezing, feeling REALLY cold with no fever, my head hurts with my sinuses filling up, my neck is so stiff and sore, I can't talk, and I'm just so tired. Wow, writing it all out, I guess I can't say "It's Just Allergies". Yikes. Okay, I see your point. :)

I will take it easy, plan to veg in front of the tv today, and the most I'll do, and only if I feel up to it, is knit while watching tv. :) And thank you for the prayers. :) I love how you signed off, it's how I sign all my emails to the people I know in person, Love and Prayers. :)

    1. I was planning on laying on my sofa, but it's actually a futon, and you saying that makes me realize I can pull it out into a bed! :) I think I'll do that. I have done that in the past when I've been sick, but never thought about it today. Thank you for the idea, that way I can still watch tv comfortably. :) And you are a lot of help! :) Don't underestimate your worth. :) Or we'll have to get Bobbie to give you a spanking. ;) hehehe Or would she like that too much? :) And thank you, I was so surprised to get that grade, I really worried about even passing the 80% pass point. 100 was a shocker.

  14. Awe Es May, I'm sorry to hear you are sick. Congratulation on the test ... wow! Good for you, and with being sick too!

Listen to Belle! :) Don't worry about the things you think you should be doing. Get plenty of rest and take care of yourself. I'm sure the Duke would agree :)

Hope you are feeling much better soon.

    1. Thank you, Roz. I worked hard, but was still very surprised with the grade. It made me feel good.

Okay, I PROMISE to listen to Belle. :) And yes, he does agree. Man has gotten a bit stubborn as he ages in DD. ;) I'm so unused to his being firm that a few times I laughed so hard. He'd just wait me out, trying not to laugh himself, and tell me he was serious. Which only made me laugh even more! I so have to work on that. lol

      I hope to be feeling better soon too. :) {{{HUGS}}}

Please feel free to leave any comments, but I do ask you to be kind. We go into this with eyes wide open after months of prayer, and a peace in our hearts that this is the right choice before God for our marriage. I am open to questions from those who wonder why we made this choice, but I would ask for no personal attacks. Thank you. :)
