Noticing DD Where Never Seen Before

I love reading Lori Wick books.  Okay, I'll be honest, I've only read her first three series and two stand alone books, I own all those, but have now bought two other series I hope to get to soon in ebook form.. :)  One series I own in book form came on sale this week for ebooks on Amazon for $9.50 in total for all four books in the "A Place Called Home" series.  Now, I've read this series a few times, but I never noticed all the DD innuendos in the first book! ;)  I read the first book yesterday and finished today.  There are three times where I thought, wow, that sounds like DD, and each one got more evident.

At one point the grandmother says that if she'd acted a certain way when he husband was still alive, he'd have taken her to task.

At another point a woman said she thought about cutting her hair, and her fiance told her that if she did, he'd paddle her.

The last one was when the grandmother did not want a party, and found her granddaughter, and two granddaughters in law planning one for her.  She told them they all deserved to be spanked, and told them she was going to get their husbands.

How did I miss these before???  LOL  They are not DD books, they are Christian romances, but I just LOVED to see these in the book. :)  Now as I read the rest of the series again, I'll have to see if there are more of these thrown in. :)  Now I can't help but hope and wonder that the author knows a bit about the blessings of DD herself. :)

Ah, the things we notice as we settle into this lifestyle. :)  Have you noticed this too?  That there were things that seemed pretty evidently DD once you practiced that you never gave a second thought to before hand?

  1. LoL Es May, oh yes, I always pick up references to spanking or DD too, even when there isn't really a connection! It's like looking at everything through spanko eyes LoL

  2. That's so cute. I haven't read any spanking romance but I keep thinking I will give it a try. I do wonder all the time if others around me practice DD but no one seems to be as apt to kid about spanking as me so I don't think they do it. Too bad. :(

    1. I have to admit, I do like some of the spanking stories. I haven't had anyone tell me they practice DD, but three real life friends know, I told two, and one told her fiance, and won't tell others. I find it refreshing to have it out there a bit. :)

  3. Oh, gosh. Old Christan romances are some of the best DD stories available! :) There was an author (whose name of course I can't remember) who wrote stories that only missed spanking scenes to be a good DD novel. It's fun to look back on these stories as an adult now.

    1. I know, I have had so much fun reading them. I'm on the fourth book now, and laughing at all I missed before. One line is even talking about children swinging from a switch on a tree, not a branch, a switch. LOL

  4. ok, so funny but I was just thinking about this the other day!!! I used to LOVE Lori Wick books, read everything of hers! Only this week was I thinking that I loved her books because of the strong dominant male in EVERY book. LoL. I totally missed all the spanking references...how in the world?!?! Will have to reread them! Her book The Princess is my ALL TIME favorite book.

    1. Oh, I love her, but have not read any of her newer books, so at least 4 series. But I do love The Princess too. :) I mean, Shelby was so cute, and prince Nicky, I mean, you couldn't help but love him, heartache and all. Though I love Lori Wick's first three series, I need to start to reading the other ones. Her men really were amazing alpha males, and I'd often find myself day dreaming about several of them when I was younger. :)

  5. LOL Es May...since I've been in TTWD relationships for quite a bit of my adult life so guess I've always seen DD evidence...especially in Christian and historical novels. :D

    1. Oh Callie, I love to read, it really helps me get out of the stress of every day for a while. It also gives me great ideas on things to do for the Duke, and ways to show him love that I never would have thought before. :)

    1. LOL I am glad I am not the only one, and it's making reading so much more fun. ;) It's like when you grow up and hear songs you used to listen to, and you're like, WOAH, it meant that??? lol

Please feel free to leave any comments, but I do ask you to be kind. We go into this with eyes wide open after months of prayer, and a peace in our hearts that this is the right choice before God for our marriage. I am open to questions from those who wonder why we made this choice, but I would ask for no personal attacks. Thank you. :)
