Spring Fling Challenge, Week 4

I have to admit, this week has been hard.  One, I was fighting something for part of the week and weekend.  But the real reason it was hard was because I have a huge split in my left heel.  No matter how much I have filed down any rough skin, or put lotion on it, it is still ripping open.  So for most of the week I would do house work, and laundry, and then rest because of how much my heel hurt.  Now, as I said before, laundy is a work out on it's own because I'm so short.  Bend over, lift, reach way over your head, tip toes, stretch, and repeat.  It can take 15 minutes to hang a load if there is a lot of items in it.  Blanket and towel loads can take 5 minutes or so.  Sometimes I put three loads on a line, and since I am spring cleaning all the clothes we haven't worn recently, and all the quilts and bedding, there has been a lot of loads.  So I do count that as a work out. :)  But I am sorry to say that I had to stop my step work outs and jogging for the week.  I honesty don't know how the crack happened, the rest of my heel, and right heel, are perfect.  I don't understand.

It is still pretty sore, but I can do more on it now.  I did not get to work out today because I'm having to finally rearrange rooms to get an office set up.  I finally heard back that all my paper work cleared, and I have a week to get everything ready.

So, with all of this, I forgot to weigh in this morning.  But I really don't feel bad about that.  WHY?  Because the other day I wanted to wash ALL my casual pants, so I decided to pull out my work pants that I wore at my last job.  Without realizing it, I pulled out the tightest pair, and just before I went to button then, realized what I'd done.  I was about to take them off when I realized they fit different.  Before, I had to suck in to button them.  On Friday?  They were too loose!  And it's only been about a month since I wore them!!!!

So this is working.  Me being more active is working. :)  I will try to weigh in tomorrow, but even if I forget, I'm okay missing a week of weighing in as long as I'm still seeing results.  If you'd told me that in only a few weeks my pants would go from too tight to too lose, I would have literally laughed at you.  I am so glad they were the pair I grabbed by mistake!

How are you all doing?  I'm loving seeing the posts that come up. :)

Have a great 4th week!  After this week, this is when I'll really need to work on it.  I'll be back to work, and it'll be so easy to go back to being lazy.  And that is really what I want to avoid.

    1. In my excitement, I forgot to tell you. Last week I did weigh in (1 day late after you told me to, lol) and I had actually lost 1 pound, which at this point I'm happy with. Not sure what this week will bring. I'll find out Wednesday morning. I'm not expecting much, if anything.

  2. Congratulations on your success !!! Yea for You !!! If your foot is hurting like that from the split, you really should go to a doctor. If your insurance will allow, go to a foot doctor (podiatrist). You do not want to get an infection, or let it pull and get split even deeper. Until you do see a doctor, keep the area exceptionally clean. Do not walk around barefoot. Do not let anyone do anything to your feet at a spa, as at many places, this can introduce infection. Coming from me an RN. God bless you and yours, Belle L.

    1. I will have to try that. I never take my feet to any of those places, but that's good to know. :) I'm putting ointment and lotion on it. I have an RN friend whose going to look at it for me now that I've worried you. Thanks for caring! :)

  3. Hi Es May,

You are going so well, keep up the great work! Hooray for the loose fitting clothes .. evidence that all of the hard work you have put in is paying off. Good for you! It does sound as though laundry in itself is a workout.

Sorry to hear about your foot. Belle has given you some good advice.

    Hugs,
    Roz

    1. LOL Laundry is definitely a work out. :) Almost makes me glad I'm too short to reach the line. ALMOST. :) Thank you, I'll try to take good care of it. :)

  4. Yay you....okay now I don't know if you use one of these things or not, but I did a few years ago with great success. You can 'punch' in your height and weight and search for every day activities that you do and it will tell you how many calories you have burned off by doing them . This is the site I used, but there are many out there to suit your needs.

As for the heal. Have you tried just Vaseline and cotton socks at night? It really does help, as does that 'spray' bandage stuff.

    love ya, willie

  5. Yay! Nothing better than clothes fitting better or being too loose. It's not about pounds, it's about feeling good in yourself and being healthy :) Well Done Es May!

  6. Eating isn't bad for me. I am a week behind on C5K but that is what happens when you are sick. My weight is up a bit but I have a feeling Mother Nature will be visiting soon and that's the why of that. Good luck this week my friend.

    1. But it's that you keep plugging along that is great. :) {{{HUGS}}} Ah, I hate that, I can literally gain up to 10lbs just before that time. :( Good luck this week too. :)

  7. Great job Es May :) All that laundry totally counts.

I can imagine your foot hurts pretty bad. If any of your drug stores have an "As seen in TV" section, look for Heel Relief. I'm not 100% sure that's what it's called but it's something like that. It should help. Also at night neosporin with pain relief and a bandaid. Hope this helps ;)

    1. Thank you for counting the laundry. :) I'll have to look for that if my RN friend likes the idea. :) I'm going to get her to look at it. I saw her today and forgot to show it to her, even though I did get vaseline from her for it. What was I thinking? lol I'll tell her about that stuff. :) Thank you.

Please feel free to leave any comments, but I do ask you to be kind. We go into this with eyes wide open after months of prayer, and a peace in our hearts that this is the right choice before God for our marriage. I am open to questions from those who wonder why we made this choice, but I would ask for no personal attacks. Thank you. :)
